Charlottesville, VA – April 17, 2019 – Hantzmon Wiebel LLP, CPA and Advisory Services, used tax season to keep spirits high, encourage friendly competition and benefit dogs and cats in the CASPCA with a multi-week drive.

Employees, divided into teams and brought in 1,606 cans of wet cat food, 1,607 cans of wet dog food, 24 large kongs (special treat toys for dogs), 30 slow feeder/puzzle feeder bowls and 45 long leashes. There were challenges each week with an overall winner. The winning team gets bragging rights for a year and a donation to the CASPCA in their honor. More importantly, the animals at CASPCA win.

“Tax time can be very busy and stressful for our team with long hours and focused attention on detailed work. We know that if we can build in activities that provide a little friendly competition and fun while befitting the community, we create a better overall work environment for our team and a win-win situation for everyone. Last year, this same friendly competition resulted in a donation of more than 5,000 pounds of food to the Charlottesville Emergency Food Network” says Jennifer Lehman, CPA, CGMA, Partner and CEO.

The CSPCA team will fill their shelves on Thursday, April 18 when they pick up the supplies. Until then, the halls will be adorned with pictures of favorite pets, towers of dog food and lots of goodies for cats.
