Jennifer Lehman, CPA, CGMA, Partner, and CEO, recognizes the best way to thank her team is to provide aide to causes that matter within the community where they live and work. The firm selected to support the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Fund and the Emergency Food Network. They are contributing financially to both charities and using their social media platform to encourage others to do the same in order to recognize the CPAs they know and love.
The firm chose the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Fund because the loss of Dr. Breen struck close to home for many of the team members. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and the firm leadership considered CPA Week a good time to shine a spotlight on this important topic since it impacts professionals from every line of work.
This month is also Hunger Action Month. In the past, Hantzmon Wiebel employees divided into teams for a friendly competition to see who could donate the most non-perishable items to the Emergency Food Network. This year, due to the impact of COVID-19, the Network has a reduced capacity for stocking shelves, so the firm decided to focus primarily on gathering financial donations. The company plans to match up to $2,500 of what their team members donate.
Although Virginia CPA week only lasts until the 19th, Hantzmon Wiebel team members will be collecting donations until the end of the month.
